Simply put, the game’s rocky 2020 launch changed the studio’s plans. CD Projekt Red had to prioritise fixing the single-player experience, and multiplayer suffered as a result. “We really needed to look at what were the priorities for Cyberpunk [after it launched],” Philipp Weber told me when I visited the studio last week. We are still actively working on making changes, which will appear with the second bugfix patch.” The most “notable changes” include lowered Survivor statuses, lowered hook counter, moved objectives from top to bottom left, removed text from objectives, and skill checks now have their own UI scaling option, too....

There are touches, like those lovely clouds, that elevate Disjunction from being just another top-down, pixel-art stealth game with cyberpunky vibes, to something a little more. It’s the first effort from Ape Tribe Games, a tiny studio of three brothers based in New York, and it’s really quite good. You play as three characters, rotating between them as the action progresses and your stories intertwine, delving into futuristic underworlds and all the usual webs of lies....

Speaking during a financial call last night, Activision’s chief financial officer Dennis Durkin said the company’s outlook does not include Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2 launching in 2021. Here’s the quote: “We expect Blizzard’s net bookings to grow given the momentum in World of Warcraft and the other growth initiatives we have in the business. Our outlook does not include Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2 launching in 2021. And while Diablo Immortal is progressing well, and we anticipate its launch later this year we don’t have any material contribution from the title in our outlook presently....

Dying Light 2 on Switch was initially due to launch alongside the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC versions on 4th February - albeit in cloud-only form - but Techland has now confirmed prospective purchasers on the platform could be looking at a significant delay, saying it expects the game to release for Switch “within six months from the original date”. While no specific reason was given for the delay, Techland said it had made the decision to push back Dying Light 2’s Switch release “in order to provide fans with the gaming experience at the level they deserve and that [the developer] wants to provide”....

The so called “no loss glitch” was active in FIFA Ultimate Team’s hardcore competitive mode last week. Essentially, it made for an easy and effective way for players to hit a 20-0 win-loss record in FUT Champions. All players had to do was “dashboard” - hit the PlayStation or Xbox button on their controller - during a match and wait for the timeout. The game wouldn’t give you a loss for doing this, which meant players were able to quit out of matches they felt they would lose without penalty....

In June, GOG announced it planned to delist classic quartet Ultima Underworld 1+2, Syndicate Plus and Syndicate Wars from its digital store at the “publisher’s request” (Electronic Arts). Then, early August, all four games returned to GOG, where they were made free to download until 3rd September. Their return came alongside a message from EA: “Syndicate and Ultima Underworld are back! It seems that 20 years on there’s still plenty of love for these titles so we’re pleased to confirm that effective immediately they’ll be available again on GOG, and we’ll be keeping them in the store for the foreseeable future....

There are two types of flasks you can use, Flask of Crimson Tears (red) for recovering HP, and Flask of Cerulean Tears (blue) for recovering FP that is used for abilities like weapon skills and summoning ash spirits.
