But while that trailer gave us a good idea of Nightingale’s alternate history fantasy setting, it gave less away on what the game will actually be like to play - and what might have changed since it was originally teased as an online multiplayer RPG. I chatted with Flynn via Zoom last week, shortly before The Game Awards, to find out more. “We had imagined the kinds of things we would build in this game, and the kinds of things players would get to do in this game,” Flynn says when I ask about the change in genre label....

The huge cache of leaked information - apparently gleaned from the files of a Warzone Mobile alpha build - detailed elements from several upcoming games, including the next release from Black Ops studio Treyarch, due in 2024. Details were posted to Twitter by user RealiityUK, whose account has now been suspended, though a description of what was posted remains on reddit. Referred to as “T10”, the unnamed Treyarch game seems certain to be another entry in the studio’s popular Black Ops subseries, which most recently visited the Cold War....

The highlight here is the handful of changes made to gameplay, specifically nerfs to the AI. The update reduces the effectiveness of AI-controlled players blocking lobbed passes and crosses, according to the patch notes. This is a significant and welcome change - prior to this patch, AI-controlled players were able to stretch too far when attempting to block lobbed passes and crosses. It was pretty annoying! Sticking with AI nerfs, CPU AI teams are now more likely to commit fouls during matches played on the semi-pro difficulty and above....

Nightclub events and parties are common in the MMORPG, often with DJ sets on Twitch. But owners of the Rain Nightclub bought four billboards in Texas and California to advertise their event, which included modded outfits and use of the Final Fantasy 14 logo (thanks PCGamer). The event is a beach party on the Balmung server on 9th July - this Saturday - that players can access with the new data centre travel feature....

Flight Simulator’s UK and Ireland World Update continues the stunning work seen in previous geographical overhauls for the United States and Japan, and includes improved aerial and elevation data, new landing challenges, “nearly 80” new points of interest, five new hand-crafted airports, plus five brand-new photogrammetry cities. As far as the new airports go, there’s Barra, Land’s End, Liverpool, Manchester-Barton, and Out Skerries, and the new photogrammetry cities were previously confirmed as Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Oxford, and London....

It’s available by engaging in two of the season’s new systems - hunting wildlife and crafting. Crafting a Hunter’s Cloak is also one of the early Seasonal challenges - so working out how to do it is not only a useful introduction to those systems, but a way to get some XP gains. There’s also a revamped battle pass system which has done away with the traditional levels 1-100 grind. Instead, levelling will give you “Stars” to spend on specific rewards you want, laid out over pages. Some items will require you to have finished off the rest of the page first, tempting you to level up further, but this should make nabbing individual items easier. In the story trailer, we see the Fortnite island’s inhabitants react to the arrival of an Independence Day-sized UFO, which hovers over the island and then appears to suck up its Zero Point energy source, destroying last season’s Spire and primal ruins in the process....

According to GAME’s announcement tweet, the stock refresh will include both disc and digital editions of PlayStation 5 - usually retailing for £449.99 and £359.99 respectively - alongside a currently unspecified selection of bundles, with everything due to go on sale via its website at the equally non-specific time of tomorrow “morning”. As reported by VGC, the lawsuit was filed on 10th May in the Central District of California, representing class members (estimated to be as many as 10,000 individuals) who all paid for game grading and other services by Wata.
