Stray S Language Has Already Been Deciphered

This language uses a substitution cipher to make the world in Stray more cryptic and mysterious. (A substitution cipher is a used to encrypt text by swapping each letter or symbol within said text with a different symbol, that can then be unscrambled with a key.) And now, HalfGlassGaming’s Josh Wirtanen has cracked Stray’s cipher, and shared how we too can do the same (thanks, RockPaperShotgun). I have embedded some photos from the game within this article, so if you are yet to play or are keen to avoid spoilers, please take this as your cue to read something else on Eurogamer....

It then did not arrive on Xbox until December that year. “We have heard all of you who played Furi on Xbox and we understand your frustration,” The Game Bakers wrote on Twitter. “We are a small indie team and we couldn’t find the time and budget to make that port. “Furi never captured a lot of attention on Xbox and unfortunately we had to prioritize platforms....

Summer Games Done Quick 2022 Reveals Full Charity Speedrun Schedule

This year’s Summer Games Done Quick serves up a week of speedrunning fun from Sunday, 26th June to 3rd July, and will feature more than 120 speedruns over its run-time, with all money raised during the show going to Doctors Without Borders. As ever, this year’s schedule is a pleasingly diverse thing, featuring retro classics, indie favourites, triple-A blockbusters, and a couple of oddities thrown in for good measure. Superb Adventure Game Lair Of The Clockwork God Getting A Fancypants Limited Run Release

I’m delighted because I’ve got a soft spot for Lair of the Clockwork God. I reviewed it on PC in 2020 and loved it. It’s an adventure game and sometimes a platform game about two characters, Dan and Ben. And they bicker, endlessly. One represents point-and-clicks, and the other, platformers. And they don’t always get along. It’s relentlessly funny which, I know, is a confrontational thing to say because you’re all like, “yeah but I bet you can’t make me laugh”....

Take Two Cans Major Project From Mafia 3 Studio After Four Years And 53M

The unannounced game, known internally as Volt, was set to be a three-player co-operative live service game to rival Destiny. The game’s name was apparently short for Voltron, and one key mechanic would have seen enemies fusing together. But despite the time and money pumped into the project so far, parent company Take-Two has now decided to can the game - potentially affecting nearly 200 people’s jobs. Reports last night from Bloomberg and Kotaku include an email from Hangar 13 founder Haden Blackman informing staff of the game’s cancellation, while Take-Two announced the financial hit in an earnings call with investors....

Talking Everything Reviews With Editor Chris Tapsell

I know he’ll hate me saying that. Nevertheless, fate intervened and we got him. He is Chris Tapsell. He began writing guides at Eurogamer several years ago, and his aptitude for critical writing and Pokémon was obvious. Slowly, his role evolved. He joined the features team, writing about how he appeared in Football Manager one year, the braggart, before sliding with more focus towards reviews.

Tencent Acquires Back 4 Blood Developer Turtle Rock Studios

First the acquisition news; as of today, following Tencent’s purchase of Turtle Rock’s parent company Slamfire, the studio is now wholly owned by the Chinese conglomerate. According to the announcement, Turtle Rock will continue to operate independently at its Lake Forest, California, offices, with co-founders Phil Robb and Chris Ashton remaining at the helm. The news does, of course, further solidify Tencent’s already significant presence in gaming, with the company - which recently launched publishing division Level Infinite - already outright owning the likes of League of Legends studio Riot Games, Funcom, Splash Damage, Supercell, and Warframe developer Digital Extremes....

The Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom Has Been Submitted To The Korean Games Classification Board

As spotted by Gematsu, the rating request submitted to the board and published yesterday includes a brief summary of the game (in Korean, naturally) and a 12+ age rating. According to Google Translate, Tears of the Kingdom has been described as a “role-playing game for Nintendo Switch in which the stage of the adventure to find Zelda expands into the sky”. The 12+ age rating has seemingly been applied due to the game’s “mild violence” and attacks on “living things”....

The One Meeting The Solo Developer Who Took The Matrix Online To The End

But where was Laurence Fishburne, where was Morpheus? Or was that Morpheus? No one seemed to be sure, though it didn’t take long for actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II to clarify that he is Morpheus in the new film. For some reason, Fisburne wasn’t invited to the reunion, but let’s not dwell on that. Because for one moment, amid all the speculation, something brilliant happened: people reached for an explanation from a game....

The Shenmue Anime Gets Its First Trailer

With an understandable focus on the action of the series rather than its more ponderous moments where star Ryo Hazuki feeds a kitten or goes for a long walk at night across town so he can play Hang-On, it’s a high energy look at the world of Shenmue as established in the first three games. Indeed, there are several memorable moments such as Ryo’s encounter with Lan Di as well as his arrival in Hong Kong, as seen at the start of Shenmue 2....

It’s a full HD IPS panel, so you’ll be getting great viewing angles at a familiar resolution supported by all consoles and PCs. But the star of the show is the 144Hz refresh rate. With AMD FreeSync support, the games you play will look incredibly smooth, particularly online multiplayer games that prioritise performance over visuals. The new generation of consoles also support this, with high framerate modes on titles like Fortnite and Call of Duty making this an ideal monitor, where you’ll be able to see more of the action, so long as your reflexes can keep up....

Tiny Tina S Wonderlands Will Have Full Playstation Crossplay Despite Borderlands 3 Kerfuffle

Controversial Borderlands and Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford announced the news in an upbeat statement posted to Twitter last night - making for a very different message to the one regarding Borderlands 3 last year. In May 2021, Pitchford stirred up drama when he said publisher 2K had stepped in to stop crossplay support for PlayStation consoles in a post-launch Borderlands 3 patch. That detail, also made public via Twitter, came just weeks after PlayStation’s internal and previously confidential cross-platform revenue share policy was also made public, as part of the Epic vs....
