In a statement emailed to Eurogamer, the company has conducted a strategic review of business operations worldwide, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Its live games - namely World of Tanks - will be managed by a local studio no longer affiliated with Wargaming. It has also begun the process of closing its Minsk studio. Luto is a first person psychological horror narrative experience where you will “embody a person unable to exit his own house”. “Finding the way to leave it will lead you through a series of paths that will challenge your senses,” the Steam store description states....

It’s been some time since I last wandered Valhalla’s dreamworlds, the game’s mythology-inspired areas that weave a companion tale to its main Norse narrative. (I will try my best to avoid spoilers here.) For most players, Asgard and Jotunheim were a fun diversion from Saxon slaughter, a chance to sightsee some of the bigger names and places in Viking/Marvel Cinematic Universe mythology. For Assassin’s Creed diehards, they were also a window into the franchise’s longer-running story threads....

DICE has, of course, been steadily working to improve Battlefield 2042 since its launch last November, when it quickly become one of Steam’s worst-reviewed games of all time. While the developer has committed to bringing this latest Battlefield “up to the highest standards that we all hold for the franchise”, it’s only now, some eight months after its release, that players will finally get a first look at the game’s long-delayed first season of post-launch content....

Platinum Games’ threequel was first announced nearly five years ago, and has been MIA for much of that time. Today’s lengthy trailer offers us a good look at the game, however. Here it is: “The titular Umbra Witch must face a mysterious evil using her signature guns and time-slowing Witch Time ability,” Nintendo writes. “This time, invading man-made bioweapons called Homunculi find themselves in Bayonetta’s crosshairs.” A new ability named Demon Masquerade will let Bayonetta channel the demon linked to her weapon for “exciting action options” and “hair-raising combos”....

“Yesterday we unintentionally gave a small number of players access to a two-hour trial of the Xbox One version of FIFA 23 that shouldn’t be available yet,” the company explained in a statement posted to Twitter. “Not all content was final. We’ve removed that access, and we’ll be ready to welcome everyone in at launch in September.” FIFA 23 launches for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on 27th September....

Last year’s real-world BlizzCon was cancelled due to coronavirus-related “health and safety considerations”, and its long-awaited digital-only replacement - formally titled BlizzConline - eventually took place in February this year. Since then, it’s been unclear if Blizzard was still planning to press ahead with a proper large-scale physical gathering in 2021, perhaps around the early November weekend usually reserved for its BlizzCon shows. In a new post on the BlizzCon website, however, show executive producer Saralyn Smith has now confirmed the 2021 event will not be going ahead....
