Expect a look at Switch games made by companies other than Nintendo - so, no hoping for Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 news here. Store pages note that the demo will only be available to play for a limited time - so don’t delay. You’ll also need to be connected online to play, though you won’t need Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus. For the uninitiated, the aim of Wordle is to work out a daily five-letter word within six guesses. The fewer the guesses, the better - and if you fail to guess it at all, you’ll break your streak. Whilst previously, the menu offered the choice of either a “male” or “female” body type, Blizzard has now removed gendered language and now simply offers the choice between “Body 1” and “Body 2”. “The new body type labels are merely text changes within the character creation screen and barber shop,” explains Wowhead (thanks, NME). “Where it previously gave players the option to select Male or Female body types, it now simply refers to them as Body 1 and Body 2 respectively....

The reveal will follow detailed updates on both Hearthstone and the main World of Warcraft over the next six weeks. World of Warcraft’s next expansion will be unveiled on 19th April. Before that, Hearthstone’s first 2022 expansion will be revealed on 15th March, with a deeper look at the game’s plans for the rest of the year “shortly after”. There’s no further detail today on what Blizzard’s World of Warcraft will look like on phones, though we know it has been a project many years in the making....

Discord server voice chat support for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S initially launched in September, but was somewhat hampered by its convoluted mobile app requirements. Today’s Xbox update streamlines the whole process, meaning users simply need to launch a Discord server via their console’s Parties & chats > Discord option then pick a voice channel from their available Discord servers - and as long their Discord and Xbox accounts are linked, they’ll be able to join that channel directly, no additional mobile app faff required....

The standout feature for me is its multipoint wireless. The XWH comes with Microsoft’s proprietary Xbox Wireless, allowing a wireless connection without the use of a dongle, but the headset also comes with Bluetooth 4.2. The neat thing is that you can use the headset with your Xbox and your phone simultaneously, making it easy to listen to music while playing games, or chat with your mates on Discord while playing a cross-platform title....

There’s no denying that the Analogue Pocket is a beautiful device - precise lines, subtly rounded corners and a beautiful Gorilla Glass screen lens impress when you first pick up the unit. In anticipation of high demand, Nintendo is limiting orders to one pack per household. The price is £4.99 and if you’re interested, you should act fast - these probably will not last long. To be fair, one pack should be all you need. The pack’s included cards let you summon six villagers (Chai, Chelsea, Étoile, Marty, Rilla and Toby) and unlock a list of themed furniture, including a set of Hello Kitty items....

Please note there may be some spoilers for Horizon Forbidden West ahead. “We’ve just released Patch 1.08. While patch 1.08 does include some general fixes such as improvements to NPC animations and a fix for repeating music, the one that caught my eye was the one that fixes “Aloy’s breathing sounds” during the game’s Thebes based cinematic cutscene....

Boasting fluid gunplay and a distinctive artistic style, free-to-play battle royale Apex Legends is a fan-favourite, but some players purport that the game’s HUD has become increasingly cluttered, particularly when they’re under attack in-game. Right now, the HUD features a minimap, fireteam info, kill feed, weapon stats, and rank details, all of which take up a good chunk of your character’s POV real estate. Add in damage indicators, however, and it becomes increasingly difficult for players to properly survey what’s happening, let alone find their opponent to return fire....

Apex Legends was originally announced for Nintendo’s platform last June, with a tentative release window of autumn. However, complications caused by the coronavirus pandemic saw the free-to-play shooter’s Switch launch delayed into this year. Excitement mounted last month when a 2nd February arrival date was - seemingly inadvertently - revealed on international promos for Apex Legends’ eighth season of content, but with that date now here, and still no sign of a Switch release, all eyes were on Respawn for more news....

The primary unlockable are Arms themselves; each character comes with three unique armaments, but you can upgrade and unlock those of other characters along the way, resulting in thousands of possible combinations. You’ll be playing for some time if you want to get them all. While Arms doesn’t appear to have the same number of things to uncover as a traditional fighting game, there are a couple of other elements that require skill and a bit of know-how to gain access to....

Odyssey fully embraces its desire to be a full-on RPG then, and that means more than just levelling, more elaborate questing and tons of loot. Now there are those dialogue choices and in-game decisions that shape not just the Ancient Grecian world around you but the ebb and flow of the story itself. With just so much content to make your way through, it’s very easy to get lost in the story and completely miss those important moments when they come and go....
