An offer was previously available to purchase a year’s subscription to streaming service PS Now for $59.99 (on the US PSN). This was a particularly good deal as existing PS Now subscribers will automatically transfer to the Premium tier of the new PS Plus worth $119.99 a year. However, PS Now can currently only be purchased on a monthly basis (£8.99). Once the new PS Plus launches, PS Now will no longer be available as a standalone product so players will move to the equivalent tier at £13....

The Limidead Edition, as the name suggests, comes with a handful of additional goodies, too, including not only a copy of the game but an “exclusive box with lenticular” - which means it moves when you look at it from different angles - two cardboard character stands, and a sticker sheet....

And in those snippets of gameplay we see a mysterious, apparently super tall vampire lady - who has in the last few days become something of an internet sensation. This smiling lady, who wears a white dress and hat, looks creepy as all hell, and not someone you’d want to spend much time with on a cold, dark night. But this is Crysis and as such, the options are there to bring Steam Deck to its knees, with the ‘Can It Run Crysis’ mode flipping the measurement of performance from frames per second to seconds per frame - akin to running the original Quake on an ancient 386 processor. Of course, the Deck is a resource-constrained device - and we have to be mindful of that. Ray tracing support in the game has a software fallback, meaning it does run on SteamOS, but it’s really not a good idea....

Midgar’s slums I often think about the playful, deceptively mundane poetry in the word ‘skyscraper’; a building so tall, so gross, that it can wound the skyline. Midgar’s slums have no real sky. And yet, in their vivid authenticity, stand taller than the places above them. Shops and houses hewn from a hodgepodge of discarded industrial scrap, made warm with smatterings of personal effects. Inside giant pipes, abandoned vehicles, and steel shacks, the people of the slums live and work....
