The LA-based show will open its doors for the first time since 2019 at its usual home of the Los Angeles Convention Centre, following mixed success as an online event in the interim. Next year will see the LACC’s two main halls divided into separate spaces for industry attendees and those attending as fans - similar to how the various halls are separated at Gamescom. Earlier this month, Mendy appeared in court charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The 27-year-old is accused of attacking three women at his home in Cheshire between October 2020 and August 2021. Mendy will next appear at court on 15th November, when his lawyer is expected to apply to dismiss the charges. A trial date has been set for 24th January. Mendy was suspended by Man City after being charged by police, pending an investigation....

That’s according to Bloomberg, which reported today that the FIFA publisher had inked a deal for a further two titles featuring Marvel characters. There’s no word yet on which other Marvel faces might star in these games, which EA studio might be making them, or when they will see release. EA’s already-confirmed Iron Man project is now in pre-production at Motive Studio, the Montreal-based team behind Star Wars Squadrons and the upcoming Dead Space remake....

Rising from the grave of E3 is EEK3, an annual indie showcase organised by Haunted PS1. As the name would suggest, Haunted PS1 is a community dedicated to indie games that are reviving the 90s era of gaming with weird and uncanny aesthetics. EEK3 in particular focuses on retro horror games and has a penchant for the low-fi, low-poly offerings its community brings. Calls for submissions for this year’s livescream (noun, a livestream with plenty of scares) went out in March....

Yesterday Eurogamer published impressions of the free-to-download football game, which launched on PC and console in extremely limited form. As I wrote yesterday, there’s a lot that’s wrong with eFootball, Konami’s follow-up to the beloved Pro Evolution Soccer series. But it’s the player faces that have turned eFootball’s launch into a viral joke. Players are flooding Steam with negative user reviews, decrying the state of the game. That’s bad enough for Konami, but what’s worse is eFootball is now the worst Steam game of all time, according to Steam reviews....

The mission, which stars actor Danny Trejo, was “accidentally released too early” according to the patch notes and will be added in again at a later date. The patch includes a number of other updates, but the size of the download is significant. On Xbox Series X/S the size is between 14 GB and 20 GB, while on Xbox One it’s between 13 GB and 19 GB.
