The range was first teased yesterday via an on-island portal featuring the world of Tron tucked behind its interdimensional fronds, and then in an a fresh audio log from Agent Jonesy - as he gets sucked into Tron’s world via a dusty old computer. The addition of Tron items and costumes continues a recent run of cosmetic crossovers from the ’80s. Fortnite’s current battle pass includes an unlockable Predator skin, while Terminator, Sarah Connor and GI Joe have separately joined the battle royale mode....

Recounting the past 12 months for the online-focused post-apocalyptic role-playing game, Bethesda said 13.5 million players had dipped into Appalachia over the course of 2022. “Fallout 76 has grown significantly over the past year, with players worldwide experiencing all sort of happenings across Appalachia from travelling roadshows to extraterrestrial invasions!” Bethesda said. In a call for staff applications to various open roles on the project, Funcom released two pieces of artwork that give us our first sense of the vibe this new Dune game is going for. There’s also an additional piece of art, showing a man, maker hook in hand, presumably about to pounce upon a sand worm. Funcom has confirmed this new Dune game is set on the desert planet of Arrakis, but that’s about it....

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick blamed a “softer economy” for a downturn in revenue for both halves of the now-combined Take-Two and mobile giant Zynga. The long-awaited Forge offering officially arrived yesterday as part of Halo Infinite’s Winter Update, and of course Blood Gulch was one of the first things on anyone’s mind to recreate. Halo fan Epsilon_church_ posted word of their creation to Twitter yesterday evening and invited others to try the map for themselves. Amusingly, however, it needed to be named “Coagulation”, as “BloodGulch” was blocked. The map was originally designed to work with CTF and Team Slayer, though it has already been updated again for FFA and Oddball modes....

We got a trailer, below, from The Game Awards that sets the scene and, usefully, shows off gameplay. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is, like its predecessor, a brutal third-person action shooter / melee hybrid in which you play Captain Titus of the Ultramarines (the blue do-gooder chapter of Space Marines). It’s developed by Saber Interactive (Halo, Quake and World War Z) and published by Focus Entertainment, with a launch planned for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S....

In a 45-minute presentation, producer Yasuhiro Kitao gave a full rundown of gameplay and answered fan questions, offering a few extra pieces of information. Perhaps most interesting is the focus on reducing player stress, though Kitao assures that combat will still be typically challenging. Rather, expanding into an open world game has added extra hurdles for the developers. Fast travel and the ability to ride a horse were born from this design choice, as well as balancing enemy placements with moments of downtime for the player....

Need for Speed Unbound is lush with an anime aesthetic that’s combined with the grungy street racing vibes of early Need for Speed games. The trailer features American rapper A$AP Rocky, who is heard narrating in the beginning of the trailer before finishing off with what appears to be a brand-new track from the rapper. Aside from the street racing that’s become a staple of the series, the trailer also shows off drivers racing away from the police, along with a diverse set of characters....

EA released the official trailer for their remake of 2008’s Dead Space on 4th October 2022, giving gamers a complete look at what to expect when they revisit the horrors aboard the USG Ishimura. The Dead Space remake releases on January 27th 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Brain Structure, which will launch as a Spotify exclusive starting in September, appears to be seperate from Kojima’s Japan-only Radioverse podcast, which began in February and promised to bring listeners a variety of guests discussing “deep topics related to games and movies that cannot be heard anywhere else”. This new Spotify podcast seems broadly similar in nature though, featuring appearances from “very special guests from various fields”, including, perhaps inevitably, Geoff Keighely, who’ll have his own regular entertainment news section....
