In February, Canadian-based device customisation company Dbrand launched its replacement PS5 plates, dubbed Darkplates, with a brazen attitude towards the prospect of a Sony takedown. “With the release of Darkplates, the unthinkable has happened,” Dbrand said at the time. “We’ve taken Sony’s monumental achievement in bad design… and fixed it. We can only assume that our prizes are in the mail.” Dbrand’s plates contain a microscopic texture, as do the official PS5 plates, but it’s slightly different to Sony’s PlayStation face button design....

What is Godfall’s Challenger Edition? Youtuber Vadim M found the code buried in the recently remastered Vice City: Definitive Edition. What’s interesting is that the code isn’t on the original retail copy of the game, hence why it was only just discovered. Rather, Grove Street Games, the studio tasked with developing the definitive editions, failed to spot that the orginal source code contained numerous files flagged for internal use only, so left it in the final build (thanks, PCGamesN)....

As spotted by the eagle-eyed members of the Disco Elysium subreddit, job listings for three new artistic positions at the studio are perhaps hinting what themes and motifs may be apparent in the studio’s next game. Set several years after GTA5’s campaign, The Contract sees a rich Franklin (and Chop the Dog) running a “celebrity solutions agency”, and attempting to lure in Dr Dre as a client. The story itself revolves around Dr Dre’s lost phone - which contains recordings of brand new music.
