Sad Cat Studios has a team of developers based both in Belarus and Ukraine. “The priority for Sad Cat was for the safety of the team and their families. As a result, part of the team has now relocated and work has only recently restarted on Replaced,” the studio wrote in a tweet. “We are continuing to work hard to match the quality you’ve come to expect from the trailer, but are prioritising both the physical and mental health of the developers by not forcing the original deadlines that have been unexpectedly impacted....

That news was shared in a new developer blog post celebrating the alpha milestone. “Up to this point, we’ve been working hard on the various parts of the game, but it’s not until the alpha milestone that a game all comes together,” the developer explained. “Now, for the first time, we can experience the entire game, from the opening scenes of the first mission to the very end,” it continued....

Shely is a long-time Blizzard employee with game designer credits on the likes of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, and World of Warcraft expansions The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, and has been a design lead on Diablo 4 since “the beginning”. “Like many of you, our team has been reflecting upon recent events,” Shely wrote in the latest Diablo 4 Quarterly Update introducing his new role....

The Capcom Fighting Collection will launch on 24th June and offer online rollback netcode for its full suite of titles, which includes the entire Darkstalkers series for the first time outside of Japan. Arcade cult classic Red Earth makes its console and PC debut, while various games in the Street Fighter series are also included. Training and spectator modes, mid-game saves and an in-game museum with soundtracks, artwork and design documents are also part of the package....

A statement released yesterday by law firm St Onge Steward Johnston and Reeds LLC reads: “Capcom and Judy Juracek have amicably resolved their dispute concerning the alleged use of Ms. Juracek’s photos in Capcom’s games. A dismissal was filed on 7th February, 2022 with the District of Connecticut to end the lawsuit,” (via Polygon). At the time of writing, there are no further details publicly available about the resolution between Capcom and Juracek....

In a statement issued this morning via Twitter, Panda confirmed it had “heard the concerns of the Smash community” and booted out its boss Alan Bunney. The company will now work with “outside advisors to form a temporary interim management committee” as players quit the company’s events in their dozens. It follows a week of bad press for Bunney and his company, as it emerged Nintendo was shutting down a fan-run Smash Bros....

The free-to-play runner was downloaded 8.1m times yesterday, 25th March, according to Sensor Tower data shared with Eurogamer. Since 23rd March, when it released early on the iOS App Store in some regions, it has accumulated 11.4m downloads total. How does that stack up? Well, it’s much higher than the launch of King’s last big release, Candy Crush Friends Saga, which generated 1.4m downloads on its launch day. But it doesn’t come close to beating another big Activision franchise’s launch on smartphones; Call of Duty: Mobile generated 18....

As its name implies, the Northern Lords Flavour Pack is a smaller-scale offering rather than a fully fledged Crusader Kings 3 expansion, and is designed to make the era’s northern kingdoms - and the characters within - feel more distinct. The storyline will see the Dark Knight and other DC friends turn up on Fortnite island. It’s penned by Christos Gage (Netflix’s Daredevil) and Donald Mustard (Fortnite’s head honcho). Issues of the comic will include codes for in-game Fortnite items, such as a new style for Harley Quinn. Collect the whole series and you’ll get an “Armored Batman Zero” skin. “When DC first approached me about doing a Batman/Fortnite series I thought it would be a lot of fun,” Gage said....
