The game goes like this (and ’this’ will be quickly familiar to anyone who’s played a battle royale game, which at this point is probably everyone?): you queue solo, or in teams of three, for a big fight in the locked-down city of Prague at night. Exactly how many players can fight together isn’t finalised yet. The current rough-count is 45. You start with no weaponry, so you need to loot it, as well as collect armour and blood packs (health refills), pulling them from the back of police vans, or chests and containers, and sometimes shops, that you find around the city....

It’s a fairly unobtrusive thing, and I just rattled through it in around 10 minutes (maybe we can speedrun it and post our top scores? I clocked in at 9 minutes 38 seconds if you’re looking for a time to beat) and your input is greatly appreciated. That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, which quotes Roth - who previously directed Black on the movie The House with a Clock in its Walls - as saying, “I am so excited to reunite with Jack, this time in the recording booth. Claptrap is the funniest character in the game, and Jack is perfect to bring him to the big screen”. Running until 5th December, High Society Heist heralds new content, including new Poison Special Ball, new cosmetic type “Brags”, and yes, more Teenage Mutant Ninja/Hero Turtles stuff, including TMNT Villains Behop and Rocksteady amongst new Player icons, those aforementioned Brags, and custom intro poses, too. “In High Society Heist, the Red Hand Crew is stirring up trouble in Knockout City, and Commissioner Chase is on the case,” explains the accompanying blurb....

The latest clip from creator Ron Gilbert shows the game’s new streamlined UI, with prompts appearing on-screen as hero Guybrush Threepwood explores the Scumm Bar on Melee Island. When the cursor moves across the screen in this clip, messages such as “Time to talk to the pirate leaders” and “Smells good in there” pop up. The interactions shown do not appear intrusive, and seem to offer a clever way of keeping the story moving along....

Of course, the famed Assassin will also be available to purchase separately within Fortnite as well. It’s a similar promotion to the kinds which Epic Games has before for Borderlands and Star Wars titles sold via its storefront. The Ezio outfit will be made available for Valhalla/Ragnarök owners on 10th March - which is Ragnarök’s release date. Any purchases made before that date will qualify for the freebie. Wander around Mos Espa’s back alleys and you may encounter Nobot, an odd-looking C-3PO lookalike, who shuffles off into a hovel. Follow him at your peril. Once inside the area - labelled as “Haunted Hovel” - you’re treated to a weird one-off moment with Nobot himself - and likely left wondering what the heck just happened. So, who is Nobot? Well, this haunted-looking protocol droid is part of the franchise’s official Disney canon, having gained a few seconds of screen-time in the background of Episode 1: The Phantom Menace....

TT Games’ epic compilation of all nine films is the UK’s second-biggest boxed launch of the year so far, behind Pokémon Legends Arceus. This means The Skywalker Saga sold more physical copies in its launch week than Elden Ring and Gran Turismo 7, though it’s worth putting all that in context. Of course, Lego and Star Wars are two of the biggest brands around. The game also enjoyed a Tuesday launch, meaning it had more time to notch up sales than a typical Friday release....

This version of Deck Nine’s upcoming all-new entry in the series is “running a little late”, the franchise’s Twitter confirmed today, and will now follow at some point later in 2021. There’s no delay to True Colors for PC, PlayStation and Xbox - though as we heard yesterday, the series’ Remastered Collection will now arrive in early 2022. More on that below. Life is Strange Remastered was originally due to arrive at the end of this month, two weeks after new series entry Life is Strange: True Colors, but Square made the decision to postpone its release back in August, citing “the ongoing challenges of the worldwide pandemic”. At the time, it offered a revised launch window of “early 2022”, but Square has now properly shoved a pin in its calendar, announcing a new release date of 1st February next year on all previously confirmed platforms - Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Stadia....

Having wasted an extortionate amount of money on what he believed to be a box of first edition cards, last week Paul released a video of the unboxing where he discovered they were G.I. A general rule of thumb for a decent keyboard is finding one that doesn’t swamp your desk space, and allows you to type as many words per minute as possible without putting strain on your fingers, wrists, and arms. You also want it to be responsive enough to play games with, and any additional features like media keys are a bonus. The G Pro TKL has 12 programmable F-Key macros and Lightsync RGB lighting, which can both be customised in the Logitech G-Hub software....

Release platforms are yet to be announced, though the original game arrived for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012. As teased last month, this return is being overseen by Yoshimi Yasuda, the original game’s executive producer, as part of his new company Dragami Games. The remake is being developed by a combination of veteran Lollipop Chainsaw staff and newcomers, and will feature “more realistic” visuals. Due to licensing issues, the game will largely feature a new soundtrack, Dragami Games said....

In an update on the game’s official blog, the team confirmed that the “difficult team-based activities” will require an item level of 1415 for normal difficulty, and 1445 for hard mode and will release later this month. “Valtan will introduce the first Legion Raid into the western version of Lost Ark. Legion Raids are difficult team-based activities that require teamwork to understand and execute the strategy necessary to counter each Legion Commander’s unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics,” the team said....

There is something special about these cards. They are narrower than ordinary playing cards, and each one contains an image - a road, a group of people, maybe a building - that can be laid next to any other card to fit together “seamlessly”, continuing the picture and bringing all elements into a single shared context. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends - which Sony actually refers to as March’s “bonus” PlayStation Plus game - is, of course, the multiplayer component of Sucker Punch’s well-received samurai adventure. Featuring both co-op play and, as of last year, a PvP versus mode, Legends was made available as a £16/$20/€20 standalone release last September, giving purchasers the option to upgrade to Ghost of Tsushima’s Director’s Cut at a discounted price. Ghostrunner, meanwhile - which comes to PlayStation Plus in its PS5-only guise - is a searing, cyberpunk action-parkour adventure from developer One More Level, and a game Eurogamer stamped with a Recommended badge when it launched in October 2020, calling it an “exhilarating display of acrobatic first-person platforming”....

It should be good news to fans of the action-adventure game who have seen little about Spidey’s pending arrival up until this point, even though he’s expected to release by the end of the year. As spotted by MP1st (thanks, TheGamer), Crystal Dynamics’ Dan Matlack responded to a question on the game’s Discord server that enquired whether or not Spider-Man would have his own story. “Spider-Man is what we call an ’event’ so he will have cutscenes and a story for sure,” Matlack replied....
