So where does Halo Infinite stand in the here and now? The truth is that while key problems are addressed with the arrival of the recent patch, there’s still a range of issues that haven’t been touched, to the obvious detriment of the presentation - especially evident in the single-player campaign. “Online services for legacy Halo Xbox 360 titles have been discontinued,” confirmed a tweet from the Twitter account Halo Support just before the weekend. “The affected games will remain playable indefinitely, but some experiences will be impacted.” Affected games include Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Spartan Assault, and Halo Wars - although only the 360 versions - and while the games can still be played, “online services such as challenges and file share are no longer available”....

This will impact Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Spartan Assault, and Halo Wars. We’ve had nearly a year’s warning that this switch-off was coming, though now we also have a definitive date. This is all part of a long-term plan by 343 to focus on the future of Halo, while supporting its past through the Halo: Master Chief Collection, which of course is available on newer Xbox consoles and through Xbox Game Pass....
