Post-production work was “permitted but not essential”, but most did make use of post-prod techniques, including the winner, who chose “to bring out the vivid red and orange hues from the striking desert shot” of Arthur Morgan and secured a new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti-powered laptop for their efforts....

While there’s no estimated release window as yet, developer Haemimont Games - the same team behind recent Tropico games - has revealed the “beloved series” is coming “soon” to PC. In an interview with The Washington Post, the developers and creators of Kirby discussed the future of the series. With Kirby and the Forgotten Land being the first 3D game in the series, the developers were asked if this would be a permanent evolution. The Jinx crossover gets underway today, and - as is now very much the norm in the ever-revolving advertising billboard that is Fortnite’s Metaversal world - will take the form of a purchasable skin in the shooter’s Item Shop. Jinx’s arrival in Fortnite, not coincidentally, occurs just two days before the launch of Netflix’s three-part League of Legends animated TV series, Arcane. Both Jinx and sister Vi play prominent roles in Arcane, which revolves around the tension between the rich city of Piltover and the oppressed underground city of Zaun....

Legendary Pictures has now signed up award-winning singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes as an executive producer and to work on music for the show, The Hollywood Reporter writes. 13 Reasons Why production company Anonymous Content has also been brought on-board. Dalian Orchard Secret is one of those, and is an activity you can do by yourself. In a “special message from Firaxis” posted to YouTube, the team outlined their favourite aspects of the upcoming tactical role playing game, and it included confirmation that there’ll be a lot of cut-scenes and conversations as you foster relationships with your teammates. “I think we ended up with something like 65,000 lines of voiced dialogue, over two hours of cinematics, and, gosh, more branching choices than you could imagine,” lead engineer Will Miller said in the interview (thanks, PC Gamer)....

Sakurai, known for creating Kirby and Super Smash Bros., launched Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games last month with the aim of teaching others about game development. His Japanese channel has 387,000 subscribers, whilst the English version has made it 448,000. Sakurai shared a picture on Twitter of the Silver Play Button awarded to him by YouTube. “That was quick!” Sakurai wrote in his tweet alongside the picture. The Spanish studio became famous for its work on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and, most recently, Metroid Dread. Yet back in 2004, it released a third-person action-adventure game called Scrapland. Players take the role of D-Tritus in the open world of Chimera inhabited by robots, who must investigate a serial killer that seems to be human. There’s a single player campaign as well as multiplayer spaceship racing and combat. The remaster is available now on Steam and GOG for £19....

Phew, okay. So, picking up from that last trailer, clearly here we have a very living and angry Chozo who Samus must fight. Why are they living? Why are they angry? I am looking forward to Metroid Dread providing answers to these questions....
