Newly added to the vote are the Allay and Copper Golem mobs. If you give the Allay an item, it will then gather more of the same or similar items. It’s also “a huge music buff and loves to dance”, apparently. The Copper Golem is, as you’d expect, made from copper which means it will oxidise over time and looks pretty cute. Voting on the fan favourite mob begins on 16th October via Twitter, with the winning mob added to the game at a later date....

In fairness, the Switch version is remarkable on its own terms. It’s a custom-made take on the series built first for Nintendo hardware, and remains an exclusive in the console space. Monster Hunter Rise is also the first in the series built on RE Engine, the same as that of Resident Evil 7 and Village, allowing the team at Capcom to produce more open world environments on Switch with fewer loading screens, removing the partitioning of areas seen in the series thus far....

This is the same remake which Bandai Namco launched for Nintendo Switch and PC back in 2020, which in turn was a souped up version of the series’ 2002 Japan-only entry for GameCube. I love the cats. But honestly, that’s just the start of things I love about this game. Details of the idea, originally dreamed up by Assassin’s Creed co-creator Patrice Désilets, have been published by Lars de Wildt, a researcher of conspiracy theories, religion and other beliefs in digital media culture at Belgian research university KU Leuven. As a PhD student, de Wildt interviewed various former Assassin’s Creed developers back in 2019. Today, he pointed to a new footnote detailing story details gleaned from these interviews. The upcoming sequel’s First Time User Experience (FTUE) will also see players “rapidly” unlock game modes and the ability to chat in-game. Blizzard has said this FTUE has been designed to introduce newcomers to the game’s many characters, systems and modes in an approachable way - without disadvantaging those who have played already. As reported by TorrentFreak, a California district judge ordered Matthew Storman, owner of currently offline RomUniverse, to “permanently destroy all unauthorised Nintendo games or other unauthorised copies of Nintendo’s intellectual property including movies, books, and music” no later than 17th August.
