The streaming giant has now removed its app from being available to download on both older Nintendo consoles, though Nintendo’s support website states Netflix will continue to function on those platforms until the above date if you have the app already. The PC mod in question comes from Opulent Halo (via PC Gamer). A rewatch of last night’s Nintendo Direct and comparisons with the versions shown in North America and Japan suggests the segment on N64 did use European PAL footage to advertise the upcoming Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass. But it remains to be seen whether Nintendo will offer a simple switch between different localised copies, or offer the US 60Hz versions of games alongside the European 50Hz originals. A report by Kotaku states that Friday, 29th October 2021, was the last operating day for employees in Nintendo’s Redwood City location, one of three main Nintendo offices for Nintendo of America. Around 100 employees are thought to be affected by the closure in California, although it’s unclear how many staff at the Canadian office have been forced to relocate or lose their jobs. Kotaku reports that SVP of Sales, Marketing and Communications, Nick Chavez - who took the role after the prior SVP, Doug Bowser, was promoted to NoA president - has left the company as a result of the changes, and will be succeeded by Devon Pritchard....

The announcement was made by game director Adam Brennecke, along with news of a final early access update out today which includes a huge revision to the game’s armour and upgrade systems. There’s also a secret feature called the Homestretch included in the update that will be turned on at a later date. We knew that the game is set to leave early access in September back in June, but now we have a solid release date....
