A first trailer for the game debuted tonight during 2022’s The Game Awards. It doesn’t give much away - or show proper gameplay - but here it is: News of a new Armored Core game does not come as a complete surprise - details and early screenshots appeared online earlier this year, with a few details of how it may play....

Audio Radar has been created by Airdrop Gaming and converts 7.1 surround sound into directional cues. Posing as a 13-year-old girl, Sherwood used a Meta Quest headset to enter different virtual reality rooms. Aspyr is best known for its Star Wars remasters and is currently working on a remake of BioWare’s Knights of the Old Republic. Beamdog, itself founded by former BioWare leads Trent Oster and Cameron Tofer, will operate as an independent studio within Aspyr, which is owned by Saber Interactive. Narrative designer Sarah Arellano, formerly of Blizzard, today announced via Twitter that she had joined the project as its lead writer. Arellano previously worked on World of Warcraft, following a stint at Saints Row studio Volition. It’s been years since we last got a proper update on Beyond Good & Evil 2, the long-awaited and ambitious-sounding sequel to Ubisoft Montpellier’s brilliant adventure game launched back in the GameCube era. Layers of Fears, to give the new experience its official (and faintly ridiculous) name, has been co-developed with Anshar Studios, and sees the original Layers of Fear, its Inheritance DLC, and Layers of Fear 2 rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 to form what Bloober is calling a “psychological horror chronicle” - complete with new visuals, gameplay, and expanded plot lines. Bloober says these new story elements will “cast a new light on the overarching narrative” as players face “spine-chilling madness that extends over generations....

In a tweet issued today, developer Bungie said Trials of Osiris - Destiny 2’s most hardcore competitive multiplayer mode - had been disabled for the rest of the weekend “due to an issue with fireteam rejoin functionality”. And it sounds like Trials may not return until the weekend after next. Bungie has suffered a torrid time with Trials since Destiny 2: Beyond Light launched in November 2020. It’s been unavailable on numerous weekends, and in late February Trials was forced offline after a popular method to fix matches was suggested to have affected around 50 per cent of players on flawless runs....
