The Blizzard Arcade Collection was officially announced back in February at BlizzCon 2021 to includes Lost Vikings 1, Rock & Roll Racing and Blackthorne. Blizzard itself experienced audio issues while streaming its own announcement of the collection via Twitch. The streaming service replaced Metallica’s musical guest spot with generic plinky plonky piano music to avoid DMCA takedown, and the result was hilarious....

ORIGINAL STORY: The Call of Duty app has leaked Outbreak, a new “large-scale” Zombies mode for Black Ops Cold War. The mention of it, now pulled from the app but spotted by the internet, includes two images and the promise of a trailer. It looks like this one will be announced soon. Activision has teased the arrival of Zombies in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone recently. Last week, a Cold War Zombies trial machine popped up in Warzone, suggesting Zombies were on their way to the battle royale....

Responding last night to some confusion over the game’s release date, the official Callisto Protocol account on Twitter reconfirmed the space survival horror’s 2nd December launch. “And yes, we’ll have a 60 FPS performance mode,” the tweet added. The news Gotham Knights will be locked to 30 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S raised eyebrows earlier this week - coming just days before its arrival this Friday. The Batman sidekick adventure previously ditched its planned PS4 and Xbox One versions “to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience”....

It’s out today in early access on Steam, it’s free-to-play with optional microtransactions, and it does suffer from a bad case of fonts. And if we’re being brutal, there is a touch of the less-fashionable mobile game to it all, too, thanks to a mish-mash of styles and familiarly broad-sweeping army types like ‘medieval’ and ‘western’. Gematsu reports the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee rated Castlevania Advance Collection for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. The listing has since been deleted. You may remember the game from a year ago when it first appeared on the Steam store. Developer Two Star Games announced the release date for Choo-Choo Charles over the weekend, with an accompanying trailer. The new trailer shows off a closer look at the gameplay. Quite appropriately, it opens with screams of “Charles!” and “I don’t want to die!” from those fleeing from the titular evil spider train. Building on Crusader Kings 2’s Duel system, Crusader Kings 3’s next update, known as version 1.3, will let players challenge rivals to fully interactive one-to-one combat scenarios, enabling them to select from a range of attacks and special moves until an agreed victory condition - from landing a light scratch to a mortal blow - has been met. Its most prominent project to date was Assassin’s Creed Rogue, the oft-overlooked ship-based sequel to Black Flag which remixed the series’ popular pirate entry in various ways. And there’s a similar feel here to Dawn of Ragnarök, which remixes Valhalla’s gameplay and adds a couple of fresh flavours to the mix. For the uninitiated, Dawn of Ragnarök is due in March as part of Valhalla’s second year of post-launch content, designed as a meaty mythological expansion weighing in at around 40 hours....

Now, in a new interview with USA Today, Ross has offered a glimpse of what that sequel may have looked like. Admitting some flaws from the first game, Ross says a sequel would have allowed him to “create the definitive version” where he “didn’t have to necessarily apologise for so much”. “We have to be able to crawl before you can walk, and walk before you can run,” Ross said, referencing advancements made in other video game sequels....

In its announcement, the company invited publishers to include Denuvo’s anti-tamper software in Switch games to help crack down on piracy and PC emulation. But many fans were not happy with Denuvo’s involvement, worried about the effect the software may have on performance. A Denuvo spokeperson has since responded to questions surrounding the software, as well as the driving parties behind it. In a statement to Kotaku, a Denuvo spokeperson claimed that the company’s software would “not have any in-game performance impact” - which would differ from the effects Denuvo has had on PC games such as Resident Evil Village and Devil May Cry 5 are well-documented....

Destiny 2’s all-time Steam peak was very slightly higher - 292,314 people - back when it first arrived alongside 2019 expansion Shadowkeep. 125,000 players are currently playing Destiny 2 on Steam at the time of writing, and of course many more will be playing on consoles, where users figures are more opaque. Fans report that The Witch Queen’s launch seems to have gone fairly smoothly, although yesterday’s pre-load was unavailable on PlayStation 4 due to a bug....

I cannot for the life of me work out why someone at Sony imagined this game as a £70 PS5 launch title, though. Perhaps it was once intended to be fully-featured, to have more depth, to include more modes. If it had launched alongside the PS5 at that price I’m sure it would have died on arrival, its matchmaking system begging for players, virtual cap in hand. As it stands, lobbies are full....

Titled as Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories, the comic will follow the story of Japan’s own android revolution. A short synopsis and some panels have been released on Famitsu in Japanese. The story is set in 2038 and stars Reina, an android idol. It seems that Tokyo Stories takes place alongside the original story of Detroit: Become Human, contrasting the largely hostile attitudes to androids seen in the game with a society that is much more accepting of them....
