Now, the creators of the Enhanced Edition have fixed the issue by implementing a custom streaming audio engine. A short clip of footage from the game was posted by Ubisoft to Twitter this afternoon, hours after the leaked footage begain circulating. More on all that below. ORIGINAL STORY 2.30pm UK: Footage of Ubisoft’s unreleased pirate game Skull & Bones has leaked. Taken from the alpha test, a four-minute tutorial video has been uploaded to reddit showing a detailed look at gameplay. The game has long been in development and suffered high-profile delays, so this leaked footage offers a new chance to see what all the fuss is about after its last showing at E3 2018....

Speaking to IGN, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 director Jeff Fowler stated the films will be a melting pot of ideas rather than directly paralleling the game series. “It’s not always going to be a linear progression of like ‘Oh, this was in Sonic 2 so it’s going to be in the Sonic 2 film’,” he said. “It’s going to be a little bit of a cherry picking, a little bit of a melting pot....

Sony Honda Mobility was established in September and plans to build electric vehicles with entertainment like music, movies, and the PlayStation 5 in mind. “Sony has content, services and entertainment technologies that move people. Elden Ring is almost upon us. Excitement is fever pitch. It’s impressive that there remains so much anticipation given From Software have actually released a pretty steady number of titles over the last decade. Yet people crave more. While there’s always perhaps an unhealthy degree of entitlement and embellished hype at work, I do think it speaks to how well the team at From Software have carved out their particular niche....

“It was unexpected to see the reactions to the social media post,” Forspoken’s creative producer Raio Mitsuo told us after a recent opportunity to go hands-on with the game. “Basically, we used existing footage from previous trailers and put something together as a social media post. And yeah, it went kind of viral in a way - that’s not the direction that we thought it was going to go! But I have to admit, some of the memes are actually pretty funny, so I got a good laugh out of it....

Dungeon Siege 3, developed by Fallout New Vegas studio Obsidian, was released in 2011. The series’ release schedule has been silent ever since. But now Dungeon Siege is back, a fresh press release has trumpeted - though perhaps not how you might expect. “The Sandbox, a leading decentralised gaming virtual world and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, announced today that it has partnered with Square Enix to bring the legendary RPG IP, Dungeon Siege, to The Sandbox gaming metaverse,” a press release stated....

Fans are already speculating what these could be for. Of course, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is already out on PS5 and PC. This trademark indicates incoming news for the game: perhaps a Steam or Xbox release? Director Tetsuya Nomura suggested that Final Fantasy 7 news is incoming next month as part of the game’s 25th anniversary celebration. As for the other two trademarks, your guess is as good as mine....

The videos show off the Yuzu and Dolphin emulators running on the Deck, which emulate Switch and Wii games respectively (thanks, Nintendo Life). It’s not clear who exactly is issuing the takedown requests, but given many of the channels have similar videos showing emulation of other non-Nintendo platforms that are still on the site, one could make an educated guess that it’s Nintendo itself. One of the videos taken down, for example, was from YouTube channel The Phawx who also has videos showing Xbox and PlayStation 3 emulation on the Deck....

Given the manufacturing constraints that continue to dog the tech industry amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Valve will be disseminating Steam Deck - as it confirmed when its reservations system opened last July - in waves throughout 2022 and beyond. As such, only a limited number of Steam Decks will begin winging their way around the world come 28th February, with Valve now warning those reservation holders at the front of the queue to expect their order emails from 25th February....

This is the seventh time the record has been broken in 12 months, most recently when it hit 24,776,635 concurrent users in mid-December. Before then, the highest concurrent player count seen on Steam was 22 million users. Steam saw an unprecedented number of players concurrently online back when the pandemic first surged, resulting in millions of people going into lockdown. Now, according to SteamDB (thanks, PC Gamer), Valve’s PC platform has hit another record high, with 25,415,080 concurrent users on the service yesterday, 2nd January, 2021....

Remote Play Together, if you’re unfamiliar, makes it possible for distant friends to play a game’s local multiplayer mode over the internet as if they were all scrunched up together on a couch in the same room, with only one player needing to own a copy of the game. To get it to work, the owner begins by launching their chosen game, then invites their chums to play using Steam’s Friends List....

As shown in a tweet by Game Data Library (that focuses on Japanese game sales data), this latest game in the series is the fourth lowest debut for a Final Fantasy spin-off. The data is for physical sales in Japan only, but between both PS5 and PS4 the game sold 46,849 copies in its first week. Game Data Library also notes that Final Fantasy spin-offs on console have mostly died out in favour of mobile games....

Players were also able to use the in-game character creation to make a custom fighter for the closed beta and so, unsurprisingly, people decided to experiment and see how far they could push those polygons. And boy, did you all push them. This character creator has a lot of sliders and categories, and you can get some freaky results. For example, the upper body settings let you adjust neck thickness, hand size, and abdomen bulge....

If an addendum to any entry in the series would be so bold it makes sense that it would be to Super Mario 3D World, the Wii U original that saw the Tokyo EAD team at its maximalist best in its desire to throw absolutely everything in. This is the Mario game whose levels pull in from everywhere and anywhere, from full-on tributes to Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda to the more obscure parts of Super Mario’s own past....

A new trailer for this upcoming release has given us two things. The first is a launch window of this autumn. The second is an unnerving look at the game’s Saw-like story, which sees a group of film makers make their way to to a replica of the ‘Murder House’ of HH Holmes, America’s first serial killer. Obviously, things are not going to go smoothly for our group of intrepid young’uns....

Sharing an update earlier today, Nightdive revealed the “scope and scale” of the project has “evolved dramatically” over the past few years. This, in part, is thanks to publisher Prime Matter joining the project. With this publisher on board, Nightdive Studios has been able to “focus on quality-of-life improvements, bug fixing, and localisation support”, things it calls “the last major steps towards releasing a game we’re all incredibly proud of”....

A new blog from PlayStation has detailed the user experience features available upon its release. These include a very useful looking see-through view and a customisable play area set up, among others. See-through view is, as you may have surmised already, the ability to “see your surroundings while wearing the headset”. Which, if you are anything like me, will come in handy. “Thanks to PS VR2’s embedded front cameras, users can press the function button on the headset, or use the Card in the Control Centre, to switch between viewing your surroundings, or viewing the content on PS VR2,” Sony explained....

The PS1 classic fighter has been added to the store as part of the PS Plus subscription, but as Twitter user TheKBGamer spotted the game was incorrectly listed as costing $9999. Harada shared the tweet joking “what a marvellous price Sony”. Presumably he would’ve Tekken quite the bonus at that price. The US launch of PS Plus has added dozens more games to the subscription than what was available to users in Asia....
