We were impressed with the wireless variant of the Aerox 5, and to be honest, you might actually argue that this wired variant offers some notable benefits. With a 66g mass, it’s actually lighter than the wireless version by eight grams or so, which should make it extra nimble. It offers a honeycombed pattern across the back, which also makes it look rather fetching, as well as the benefit of nine programmable buttons, including a DPI clutch, which will be of massive help to those who indulge in FPS titles for more precise aiming....

Not only that, but these marvelous mods also go a couple of steps further than the offical PSVR release of Resident Evil 7 by introducing both full VRIK (that’s a full player avatar rather than just floating hands) and motion controller support. What makes this even more impressive is that these new motion controls also feature some extra immersive touches, like the ability to block by holding your hands in front of your face, or being able to physically heal by pulling a medicine bottle out from over your shoulder and pouring its contents directly over your (virtual) hand....

2K Games, the current publisher of the franchise, announced a “long-term exclusive deal” with Woods today. “Woods will play an active role in the video game landscape as an executive director and consultant with PGA Tour 2K,” a 2K spokesperson said. “2K will also partner with Woods’ TGR Foundation, which provides award-winning STEM curricula and college-access programs to offer underserved students the tools needed to thrive in school and beyond....

Update 2.2 reworks Orbital in a similar manner to how September’s patch reworked the (appropriately named) Renewal. Here, Battlefield developer DICE says it has “improved gameplay flow” and added more cover and assets, as well as various terrain improvements. Another big addition to this update is that of persistent servers for Battlefield Portal, so your server will always remain available within the game’s server browser - even when there are no active players....

But don’t expect to hear more on this project anytime soon, Creative Assembly said today. Instead, there will be a “significant wait before further details are revealed” on this new franchise. Intriguingly, the company noted it also had plans for a separate “yet to be announced project”. While Creative Assembly did not go into any specifics about what its new action project will look like, it did state that its studio in Sofia would be leading its development, and noted it was now looking for candidates to join the team that had “experience working on third-person titles using the Unreal 5 engine”....

Announced at this week’s Hasbro PulseCon, the first six double-sided cards feature your favourite Transformers in both vehicular and robot form, and there’s two versions of each Transformer, as they come in both a retro 1980s style as well as their inversed Shattered Glass variant. So far cards featuring Optimus Prime, Starscream, Soundwave, Slicer, Goldbug, and Flamewar have been confirmed, and will reportedly be available in The Brothers’ War sets, as well as Bundle Box and collector boosters, too....

As Eurogamer reported yesterday, the much-anticipated League Play mode launched in Black Ops Cold War this week and it got off to a rough start. The League Play system, which is similar to that used in Black Ops 4, was criticised for a lack of restrictions on weapons, their attachments, field upgrades, scorestreaks and more. Some had hoped for a ruleset closer to that used by professional players in the Call of Duty League....

The spiritual successor to Two Point Hospital, the game sees you managing your own campus filled with fantasy lessons. Spy school will see students donning trench coats and studying the likes of drone flying, target practice, and completing laser-filled obstacle courses. What’s more, rival agents from across Two Point County can infiltrate your school by disguising themselves as spy students. You’ll need to sniff them out and expel them, or risk dark secrets being discovered....

Up until now, Ubisoft+ has only been available to players on PC, but a service that scrapes Xbox’s backend and spotted by our friends at VGC has reportedly found an Ubisoft+ logo in the system, hinting that Ubisoft+ may be coming soon. A prior announcement confirmed that Ubisoft+ - unlike EA Play - would not be part of Xbox Game Pass, and this is unlikely to have changed, particularly as a cut-down version of the Ubisoft sub, Ubisoft+ Classics, is available within the upper tiers of Sony’s rival PS Plus....

A recent company filing revealed Yves Guillemot chose to forgo about a third of his annual compensation (via Axios), equating to a pay cut of €310k (approximately £266k / $327k). An Ubisoft spokesperson told Axios this was a “personal decision by Yves Guillemot, which he took considering that the company had not reached the financial targets that it had publicly communicated to the markets”. The vast majority of the pay that Guillemot has given up is linked to Ubisoft’s financial performance as well as “the execution of internal reforms meant to address issues stemming from the company’s sexual misconduct scandals” that have come to light in recent years....

Ubisoft Forward 2021 will take place at 8pm BST/12pm PT on Saturday, 12th June, coinciding with the start of this year’s online-only E3 week. The publisher hasn’t yet revealed the games it’ll be showcasing during the event - although it says to “stay tuned” for more news on the line-up - but it should be pretty easy to make some educated guesses about what it’ll bring. We’ve not, for instance, seen much on Far Cry 6, extreme sports effort Riders Republic, the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, and Rainbow 6 Quarantine (or whatever it might eventually be called), despite all three previously delayed titles being due to launch this year....

Due to open “midway through” 2023, the officially licensed Uncharted ride is a “multi-dimensional” dark ride coaster that’ll take riders on an “immersive and exciting” adventure through “unexplored territories” in search of “one of the greatest treasures never found”. Kicking off with a “pre-show full of surprises”, the rollercoaster itself will feature 700m of track reaching up to 12m in height, and incorporate five launches with up to 1G of acceleration....

Can you be a casual shmup player? Well I’m certainly one, drawn as much to the spectacle and strangeness of the genre. These things are so pure in their abstraction, and often so dazzling in their art and aesthetic, that I’ve always found them irresistible, even if I’m typically drawn to more stately classics such as Darius or Gradius which are more apt for aging players like myself. Up until now I’ve never really dabbled so much in Cave’s work, probably because I’d been put off by their own reputation: offering diamond-edged challenge and featuring arcane scoring systems, they’ve always seemed the preserve of the real purist....

On 14th January, the men spent more than $100m on Activision stock options priced at just $40/share, underneath the company’s then $63 price. In effect, they were already making a profit. Four days later, on 18th February, Activision announced it was being bought in a deal worth $95/share. If and when this deal is ratified, the men stand to make more than $100m in profit. Who are these men? There’s former chairman and CEO of 20th Century Fox Barry Diller, music mogul and Dreamworks co-founder David Geffen, and socialite Alexander von Furstenberg, son of German Prince Egon von Fürstenberg....

Last Stop is described as a game about “secret lives, the ties that bind, and how magic can be found in the mundane”, and follows the interweaving, supernaturally tinged tales of three separate characters in modern day London. There’s Donna, a “spaced-out high-schooler who feels trapped by her stifling home life”; John, an “overworked middle-aged single dad” who’s “burdened with debt and the pressures of being an only parent”; plus Meera, a “ruthlessly ambitious professional who struggles to find the same satisfaction with her family that she does in the thrill of her work....

Mainly I just walk, though, and soon I forget that Interminal is kind of a joke about airports and enjoy it as its other element, this playful exploration of modern liminal spaces. There is a magic to airports - the same kind of magic Will Self finds on the M25. These are our Stone Henges, our Avebury Rings, they just aren’t sufficiently old yet....

Even though this weapon hits hard, it’s held back by low bullet velocity, slow fire rate, and general impracticality, especially when compared to other top-tier weapons. It’s possible developer Raven Software will make this weapon more viable in the future, but for now, there isn’t much reason to use it in a competitive sense. Still, it can be fun to mess around with if you’re looking for something new.
